A POEM CALLED - GOLDFISH

 A POEM CALLED - GOLDFISH

I recently wrote a poem about what it means to be confined, in this poem I use a Goldfish as an extended metaphor, I am sure most people understand a Goldfish has an incredibly bleak life. Let me know your thoughts below in the comments.

Goldfish

What is life? Here today gone tomorrow.

I have circled the bleak perimeter, dozens of times, nay!

Hundreds of times? Nay!... thousands, I have circled the perimeter thousands of times. Nay! I have circled the perimeter too many times to count.

What is life? Here today gone tomorrow.

I dream of soaring through the air, like a Majestic Bumble Bee in a field. I long for the tender rays of sun to radiate on my gills. SMACK! I've done it again, while daydreaming about life out of this hell I've collided with the glass on my cell.

What is life? Here today gone tomorrow.

What is life? Life is what you make of it.

What is life? Life is the great unknown, no one knows what tomorrow holds.

What is life? Why should I care? I'm just a fish inside of a dish.
