THE TYPES OF MEDIA I USE
THE TYPES OF MEDIA I USE
I was recently watching old episodes of Hot One’s on YouTube that I previously skipped over. (a show where people eating increasingly spicy chicken wings while being interviewed) I came across the the Gary Vee episode, for those of you who are not aware, Gary Vee is an entrepreneur, motivational speaker and digital marketing expert. If you have not seen this episode of Hot One’s, I would encourage you to do so, Gary divulges a lot of great information.
One of the things I took away from the Interview was this: When releasing videos on YouTube, If you have a blog, release a short summary of your latest video on your blog, the blog post doesn't need to be long, four paragraphs is enough, and if people like what they read then they can then follow a link to watch your video, apart from giving a brief summary I like the idea of giving the reader behind the scenes information, as I feel this will give the readers a better experience when they finally get around to watching my newest video.
At the moment I use three types of media to connect with my audience: Visual media (my YouTube Videos), Audio media (my podcast), and text based media (my blog). I take a synergistic approach to the types of media I use, I make my audience aware that my work is available to them in different forms, because an audience member might not have time to watch a YouTube video, however they may have time to listen to a podcast or read a two minute summary of my latest video, and If the audience member likes what they have read, at some point they will make time to consume the latest video or podcast.
before ending this blog post I would like to recommend an Interview I did with Omoye Uzamere, a Nigerian Actor, Writer, Voice Over Artist and Producer. We talked about the acting scene in Nigeria, The Lagos Theatre Festival, and Acting on radio to name a few topics
I will leave a YouTube and podcast link below.
