Are smartphones a distraction for school children? There are many who argue that smartphones are a distraction for school children and I have to say I whole heartedly agree, there are many including Britain's strictest Headmistress 'Katharine Birbalsingh' who argue that children should not have access to smartphones due to the problems they cause, online bullying, distractions in class, and a disruption to learning. Furthermore, smartphones are stealing key social skills that young people need - to prosper in society, Some say "Phones are not so bad." Phones are pretty handy, being able to call and text friends and loved ones in a quick, and efficient way is a marvel of modern technology. However, s martphone's are so problematic for young people because they are carrying around a multimedia tool, in their pockets, which can easily overwhelm a young, developing mind. Smartphones enable users to download apps which, enhance the capabilities of the device. S

New Orleans is the place to be! Do you enjoy good food, people, and music? If you answered, yes to all three then you need to put New Orleans on your bucket list. I love music, in particular, Blues and Jazz - you can find Jazz clubs in London, however, they are few and far between. I wanted to be fully immersed in this music so I headed to New Orleans. A POEM CALLED - GOLDFISH I recently wrote a poem about what it means to be confined, in this poem I use a Goldfish as an extended metaphor, I am sure most people understand a Goldfish has an incredibly bleak life. Let me know your thoughts below in the comments. Goldfish What is life? Here today gone tomorrow. I have circled the bleak perimeter, dozens of times, nay! Hundreds of times? Nay!... thousands, I have circled the perimeter thousands of times. Nay! I have circled the perimeter too many times to count. What is life? Here today gone tomorrow. I dream of soaring through the air, like a Majestic Bumble Bee in a field. I long for the tender rays of sun to radiate on my gills. SMACK! I've done it again, while daydreaming about life out of this hell I've collided with the glass on my cell. What is life? Here today gone tomorrow. What is life? Life is what you make of it. What is life? Life is the great unknown, no one k

47th - Theatre Review - Since Donald Trump left the White House, I find it surprising that there has not been a slew of theatre shows wanting to give their take on the Trump presidency. Maybe, some writers thought about taking on the challenge, but where do you begin? Lesser writers may have folded under the pressure, however, Mike Bartlett a master of writing for stage and screen managed to come up with a winning formula. When I initially found out about this show and heard about the cast and creative team who would bring this creation to life. I was chomping at the bit to see '47th' because I knew it would be special. Instead of looking back, Bartlett has thrust us into the future. How far into the future? 2024, the year of the next presidential election. Throughout '47th' Bartlett does not pull any punches, the dialogue is full of zingers that make the audience squirm in their seats. Bartlett's dialogue is lyrical, Shakespearean at times, it drives the story fo

ASK AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE I have started doing things differently on my YouTube channel, I have started asking for more input from my audience, I have always been open to input from my audience but now I am really pushing it. A few months ago a viewer asked me to make a video of my set up for YouTube, it took me a while to get to it, but I have finally done it. Ultimately this is a collaborative effort between myself and my audience, I want my audience to know that by leaving comments, you are helping to shape the channel. I am looking forward the the audiences reaction to my new video, and I wonder if this video will encourage more audience members to engage with the channel Let me know your thoughts on this blog in the comments. ________________ Listen to Podcast version of my show https://anchor.fm/tunji-joseph ___________________ Follow me on Twitter and Instagram: @tunji_storytime

On Set (Picture from set) I had a wonderful time on set, everything went to plan, my crew were amazing it was a pleasure working with them. This was the first time I have directed other actors from start to finish since completing my MA in Acting, I felt like I knew how to help my actors go deeper and reveal more. With: In Front Of You, being the third movie I have directed, of course there are things for me to take on board, look at and work on, so that the next time I get a chance to direct I will be even better. I already have my eye on a project I think might be next, nothing is set in stone as of yet. The day after we wrapped on production, I was incredibly happy, because I was proud of everyones work! Also it was great to be surrounded by a group of creatives after being in lockdown.
